Scott Simpson Contracting is based in Enfield North Otago just a 10min drive inland from Oamaru.
A local boy from Tokarahi, Scott started off on his own in 2002 beginning as a wrapping contractor, he found the demand from farmers in the region was growing and purchased a round baling business that was up for sale in the area.
After finding that was going well he felt the pressure from the farmers to expand into square baling then it naturally progressed into the fine chop side of things, hence purchasing another business with those services. The business provides services mainly to the North Otago area but at the same time also travels out to areas such as the top of the Hakataramea valley, lower South Canterbury and down to Palmerston.
With the aim of providing great service with up to date equipment Scott Simpson Contracting now provides a large amount of services to a large area.
We are constantly looking at ways to provide that extra service by improving the quality of work done by moving with the times and new ideas, techniques and machinery.
And passing these onto the farmers, hopefully making things more simple and efficient for them. Employing a team of around thirty in the silage season, these are mainly local people providing services to people they know personally, we find this helps to make us take great pride in the jobs we are doing. Passionate about agriculture Scott strives to fill any requests made to him and is always looking into the future of the business and the farming sector developments.
